12.Washington Fantasy Team (📉-2)
Panic time? After losing to the previously winless Need for K1Speed, WFT finds themselves sitting at the bottom of the division and league standings. I don't really see a way out of the toilet bowl for this team. Maybe a hype video and some trades could kickstart a comeback, but it feels more and more unlikely as the rest of the league solidifies.
11.Need for K1Speed (📈+1)
Joe's squad finally gets in the winning column. Looking at the season scoring as a whole, it's clear that this team isn't the normal Super League bottom feeder. K1Speed has three weeks over 130 points despite the record, but has run into hot teams. Bill will look like a keeper candidate if he can continue to put up weeks like this. Javonte looks like a keeper somehow. Despite the Jacobs and Lamar trades sending out blue chip keepers, there is a future here.
10.Parma Pirates (📈+1)
The Pirates move to 2-3 after taking down the previous #1. Usually a win like this would necessitate a big leap in the rankings, especially being a top scoring team in the league, but Super League is extremely even right now and there's glaring issues on this roster. Looking at things in the long run, you can't expect the Pirates to be anything but a toilet bowl team. Which is why they end up at 10.
9.The Bridge Road Orcas (📉-2)
The Orcas have hit rock bottom, dropping two straight to out of division opponents. Losing the "Jack-Off"™️ is disappointing for the managers, the fans, and even the Orcas themselves. We heard that Jack's birthday this weekend really distracted the team as many of them were hungover and/or roofied. This team boasts the lowest scoring total in the entire league so far, and is trending down as injuries and busts pile up. This is starting to feel like a toilet bowl team, and would be further down that road if they can't get it done vs. the Slimes this week.
8.Rubber Buckys (📈+1)
I heralded the Buckys as a spoiler team last week, and they live up to it immediately. Even with the team namesake injured, they delivered an all around scoring performance that knocked out Sacks in the City and delivered the Buckys to an above .500 standing. This has been a really fun team this year, and I find myself rooting for the Buckys more and more. If the Buckys can get any more wins in this part of the season, they could turn into a sneaky playoff team as they have heavy hitters waiting to return from injury. I can't raise them beyond this spot today, but defeating the Skunks would change everything.
7.Shit Eating Skunks (📉-1)
The Skunks continue their slide, losing a close match to the Sharks this week. They bounced back in the scoring column at least. I still think this team has what it takes to be a playoff team, but they will have to prove it during the divisional matchups now. Luckily for them, the entire division lost this week too.
6.For(th)ky Down (📈+2)
Jackson becomes Jackfather. Winner of the second annual "Jack-Off"™️, For(th)ky Down is suddenly a serious team in the mix for a playoff spot. They could take things to the next level this week by defeating the Beer Wolves, and getting to .500. As it stands, this team is a threat to win any game behind consistency kings JSN and Cook. Tony Pollard and Deebo look like excellent picks as well. Jackson has this team in a position to compete for the first time since the franchise made the finals in 2022.
5.Bona Vista Beer Wolves (📉-1)
It's been a rough go for the Beer Wolves this season, who have dropped another winnable game due to mid production and a league low Sit/Start% by 4%. The truth is the scoring punch hasn't been there for the Wolves. The Beer Wolves would be 2-3 vs Sacks in the City, 1-4 vs Zarks Sharks, 2-3 vs GIRTH, and 2-3 vs Parma Pirates if the Beer Wolves played each of those teams every week. The previous Penguins championship was not built on the draft, but timely moves. It'll be interesting to see if the Beer Wolves get active this week, to avoid another possible loss.
4.SLATTS SLIMES (📈+1)
The Slimes put up a very solid week at the perfect time. They now take control of the division back over with GIRTH losing a game and the Slimes winning, and they jump all the way to 2nd in the sleeper rankings. The team has another winnable game this week against the Orcas. A win there would bring them to 5-1, which would be incredibly impressive and the best start in franchise history. With Jacobs back the rest of the season (barring injury), this team should have a steady presence that keeps them in the divisional hunt.
3.Sacks in the City (—)
Despite a surprise loss to Rubber Buckys this week, Sacks in the City is still in position to be a title contender this season. People may be quick to dismiss the Sacks, but they are missing their most crucial piece right now in Lamar Jackson, and were down Bijan to BYE this week. One thing to watch for is the result these next two weeks. They face the Sharks and Slimes, and will want to at least split those to feel confident in the divisional hunt. Even if they lose both, I believe in this team in the long run due to this collection of talent.
2.GIRTH (📉-1)
GIRTH got flattened by a superior franchise. Some are saying the rats from GIRTH were evicted from their NYC sewer and were relocated to a Parma shed, bc they are now property of the Pirates. More bad news: Hampton is on IR. To be honest, I'm not worried about this team despite this. Even if they dropped 140 they would have lost. GIRTH will have to capitalize on another low tier team this week with WFT coming to town. Kittle should be back soon, which raises the ceiling here (Johnson looked rough this week). Nacua is an offensive engine, and Judkins is looking like a freight train. This team is built for the long haul, despite the disappointing week.
1.Zark's Sharks (📈+1)
The Sharks escape a close match that ended late Monday Night. They improve to a league best 4-1 record, and with the entire Johnson division and GIRTH losing this week, they improve their chances of taking home a BYE by week 15. I've mentioned Egbuka every week for a while now, but he's legit becoming a blue chip keeper before our eyes. This gives the Sharks flexibility and a strong future, as they already had the top keeper trio in the league. A big test comes this week against the defending champs, where power could swing back if they were to lose. To me, as long as the key guys stay healthy, this team at least controls the Moss division and likely a BYE.
