Power Rankings: Week 8

10/22/2025

It's alive!!! The league responds to the soft window, and yet another shakeup at the top of the rankings is a result. In fact, there hasn't been a team that held #1 on this poll in back to back weeks yet, and this is now the 8th edition. Unreal stuff from the league this year. I have the updated key dates below, but I'm also going to include the official Super League standings as well, since SL tiebreakers differ from Sleeper, and the playoff race heats up.

  8. Shit Eating Skunks 3-4 (H2H over Buckys)
  9. Rubber Buckys 3-4
  10. Washington Fantasy Team 2-5 (H2H over Orcas)
  11. The Bridge Road Orcas 2-5
  12. Need for K1Speed 1-6

12.Need For K1Speed (—)

No team was more active during the opening of the soft window than this team. They traded away two good players for worse players and picks, so they are the auto #12 here. Not to mention they already had the worst record in the league, but it's clear that Joe's squad is now looking forward to 2026. Joe should be assumed to be the favorite to lose the toilet bowl and become the Skunks at this point.

11.Washington Fantasy Team (📉-1)

It was another week where fantasy team put up respectable numbers but lost to a hotter team. I've heard this owner has been shopping Jonathon Taylor, who is the heart and soul of the team right now. WFT's streak of making the playoffs every year of Super League is certainly in jeopardy.

10.The Bridge Road Orcas (📈+1)

The Orcas lose a close one to the Pirates this week, despite putting up a decent week scoring wise. It feels like it's not the Orcas year, and I now expect the Orcas to be a selling team throughout the soft and full windows. I think the team is currently safe of becoming the skunks, especially with how other teams are preparing to end the season.

9.Rubber Buckys (—)

The Buckys are just kinda chillin this season. Maybe the team GOAT Bucky Irving will be back this week. It definitely looks like the Buckys are headed for the toilet bowl, but if they can get Joe Burrow and Bucky back, they'll resume their status as a spoiler and should be safe in the toilet bowl. I have to wonder what trades this team will make, because it's been a very quiet year in that department for the notorious tradester.

8.For(th)ky Down (—)

This team should be top seven, maybe even as high as six. This is a team that could easily make the playoffs, yet the reports are that the franchise is shopping bonafide breakout keeper JSN. Some questions need to be asked, like is Jackson not a fan of JSN because of "Jaxon" being spelled with an X? Who does Jackson hope to get that will help this franchise in the future and present that's better than a 23 year old WR1? If this is the decision, it seems that the team has little interest in the playoff push they very well could have. Still, there's talent on this team that could beat any team any week, so they don't fall at all.

7.Shit Eating Skunks (—)

The Skunks put up a shitty week. It's not looking great for the Skunks chances of making the playoffs, but being 3-4 right now is a lot better than 2-5. They retain this position mainly due to teams below them (and the Pirates ahead of them) being involved in future minded trades going forward. One note here is Stratton finally has control of the franchise via co-ownership, so the team could become more active and multidimensional.

6.Parma Pirates (—)

The Pirates continue the winning streak, now holding the second best in the league at three straight. The Pirates control their own destiny technically as they face the Sharks two more times before the season is over. With Lamb back, the team feels more like a threat than ever.

5.Sacks in the City (📉-4)

This is a steep drop for Sacks in the City, but between teams dropping insane scores last week, major acquisitions being made on Tuesday, and a 6-1 team getting one over on them, a drop is warranted. Lamar Jackson's availability will continue to be a huge X-factor going forward for the team, as I believe it unlocks Henry as well. That being said, I think the team is in line for some easy wins the next couple of weeks as the Skunks, K1Speed, and Orcas come to town. This team could benefit the most from winning the upcoming Mickey Mouse Tournament in my opinion.

4.GIRTH (📈+1)

GIRTH had two wins this week, the solid matchup win vs the Buckys and the acquisition of Saquon Barkley on Tuesday. It's this team's only trade of the season, but it's a huge one. Saquon hasn't been rock solid this year, so it'll be interesting to see how much of an upgrade he really is, but it's a swing that should see the team positive benefits in my opinion, and he didn't have to give up a high pick. One thing to watch for GIRTH will be this week vs the Slimes, and weeks 10 and 11 (the Mickey Mouse cup). These could be their keys to winning the division.

3.SLATTS SLIMES (📈+1)

I can no longer leave the Slimes out of the top three. The #1 seed currently is humming, knocking off Sacks in the City in the process. One test is rewarded with another, as a new look GIRTH comes to town. I wonder if the Slimes could bolster their roster before the matchup as well. The Slimes are now one win away from tying the franchise record, while only halfway through the season. Sam = class.

2.Zark's Sharks (📈+1)

One word: Rice. Two words: Gibbs fucks. Three words: Weekly top scorer. These are a lot of good words. What's better is that the Sharks have done it without Josh Allen this week. The ceiling is really starting to show with a performance like this. What's better for the Sharks is that their schedule looks pretty easy, and the tough games remaining are against teams vying for the BYE. The Sharks control their own destiny and could even look to up the ante by being a top contender in the Mickey Mouse Cup. If McBride and Gibbs can keep this up, this team will be one of the toughest outs due to positional advantage we've seen.

1.Bona Vista Beer Wolves (📈+1)

Bona Vista has delivered back to back weeks of pure class. This is more of what everyone was expecting. The Wolves did leave some points on the table this week, but that matters less when you're in the 160 point range. The Beer Wolves lead the league in scoring at the halfway point, and a scoring title is one thing the storied franchise doesn't have in the trophy case. The remainder of the season becomes about a couple of key things to me: competing for the Mickey Mouse Cup, and trying to lock in the BYE. I think the Beer Wolves are now the clear choice to win the Johnson division.
